Simply lift the mat out of the entranceway well, take it outside, and shake to remove any loose debris. While holding the mat vertically, rub the surface fibres to encourage stubborn particles to dislodge. Vacuum the area where the mat usually sits before replacing it, ensuring it lies flush with the well edges to prevent tripping.

For tougher dirt like wet mud, paint, or oil, use the jet setting on a standard garden hose to remove stubborn residues.
