Cotton Chenille

Cotton Chenille.jpg

According to textile historians, chenille-type yarn is a recent invention, dating to the 18th century and is believed to have originated in France. [1]

The chenille yarn is manufactured by placing short lengths of yarn, called the "pile", between two "core yarns" and then twisting the yarn together. The edges of these piles then stand at right angles to the yarn's core, giving chenille both its softness and its characteristic look.

Cotton Chenille is one of the softest options in our natural border range. However soft it feels, being made from Cotton means that this border remains a durable option. It features a speckled pairing of tones that combine to display a rich and luxurious shading.

You can pair Cotton Chenille with our comforting Wool Collection, or use it to soften our plant-based Natural Sisal or Coir Luxury Ranges.

Cotton Herringbone

Cotton Herringbone.jpg

The distinct Herringbone pattern is so named because it resembles the skeleton of the Herring Fish and has been found in archeological sites around the world dating back thousands of years. [2]

Despite the timelessness of Herringbone as a design, with its distinctive chevron pattern, it commands an extremely contemporary style that exudes sophistication.

Why not pair Cotton Herringbone with our Seagrass Herringbone Collection, or use it to redefine and contrast with our many Sisal Weaves.

Single Border

A single border is one strip of fabric that wraps around the edge of the rug.

Our Bespoke Rug Borders offer you the opportunity to pair with a Rug Material that compliments it, creating a Custom Rug that manages to blend flawlessly with your room's accents and style.

Or why not take the opportunity to contrast against your Rug Material to build intrigue? A rug that has a broad weave could benefit from the intricate allure of Cotton Chenille.

The choice is yours...

Double Border

Double.jpg

A Double Border is two strips of fabric that wrap around the edge of the rug.

A Double Border allows you the option of going one better and getting a pairing that accents two different design aspects. That flexibility offers a new level of customisation.

What will you choose first?

Double Border Narrow

Double Narrow.jpg

A Double Border is two strips of fabric that wrap around the edge of the rug. The Inner Border is set at a thinner width of 3cm, which creates a unique framing effect.

A Double Narrow Border allows you to give weight to each of the two colours you choose from.

Make the Inner Border a subtle reflection of an accenting colour in the room or a splash of Unexpected Red [5] and the Outer Border a clear barrier between Rug and Subflooring.

Utilise a Cotton Herringbone Inner Border as a visual guide around your Rug before the eye meets the Outer Border.

Just as much choice as the Double Border with a little extra personalisation.
