A lot of our rugs are made to order and you have the option to choose the main material, the border and size that is exactly right for you.
To make it easier to view the hundreds of options we built a Rug Designer.
With this tool you can view the materials, design your own rug, input the required size, obtain prices, order samples and order your rug quickly and easily. You can create an account and save several designs to show to your family too, so you can choose your perfect rug together.
'How do we do this?', you may ask. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to find your way around our Rug Designer:
Step 1 -
Head to https://www.naturalrugcompany.com/product/rug-designer/ which takes you to the Rug Designer Home Page which looks like this:
Step 2 -
On this Home Page (image above) you can select the Material for the main part of your Rug. Scroll through all the options using the arrows provided at each side, or by using your finger to swipe if using mobile or tablet.
In this example we have selected Sisal. When you have selected a material it is time to click the Next Step button.
Step 3 -
You can now choose which weave within the Sisal category you like for your Rug.
Move through the options below the preview using the arrows or swipe if using mobile or tablet.
Each weave will have colours beneath it, if using a small screen you might need to scroll down. These colours are small pips/circles. Clicking on these colours will bring up a preview of the Rug in this Weave Colour.
Once you have made your selection of Weave and Colour click on the Next Step button to move to the next screen.
Step 4 -
You will now be presented with three choices of border style.
Single Border: A Standard 5.5cm Border
Double Border: A Standard Outer 5.5cm Border paired with a Standard Inner 5.5cm Border. This option will allow you to choose two different border materials/colours for a twin border style.
Double Border Narrow: A Standard Outer 5.5cm Border paired with a Thinner 3.0cm Inner Border. This option will allow you to choose two different border materials/colours for a twin border style.
Once you have made your choice you can click on the Next Step button.
Step 5 -
The next stage is to choose which material you would like for your border. There are only there options of Cotton, Linen, Leather - so you don't need to swipe or use arrows at this step. There are many types of Cotton, Linen and Leather at the next step; for example Linen Twill, Linen Basketweave, Linen Boucle.
If you have selected a double border, it will first ask about the Outer Border and then ask you about the Inner Border.
Once you have made your choice click on the Next Step button.
Step 6 -
We now move on to the border weave and colour selection. It is just the same as the Rug Material Selection. You will see previews of the options and below the previews will be all the colours you can choose from in each range.
In this example we chose Cotton and are now shown Cotton Herringbone and Cotton Chenille.
Once you have made your choice click on the
Next Step button.
Step 7 -
Now that you have chosen all your Rug's Materials, it is time to move on to the size.
The size can be changed between Metric and Imperial Measurements - our workshop works in CM and so any Imperial Measurements entered will be rounded to the nearest CM, but we will email you once you have ordered your Rug to confirm this adjustment to ensure you are happy before proceeding.
Pattern/Weave runs in the direction of Length. For example, if you order a Herringbone Pattern Rug, the Chevrons will always run along the direction of Length. Keep this in mind and if in doubt, send us an email. We can adjust your size to ensure the pattern runs in the direction you want.
Input your Length and Width. The Rug Total Price will be updated to reflect the changes you make.
You may now click any of the buttons beneath.
Buy Now will take you directly to the payment options.
Order Samples will add those elements you selected to the basket for you (Scroll down to see a screenshot) to check out later when you have all the options you want to review. They will be posted out to you in 3-5 working days, giving you a chance to experience the quality of our materials first hand.
Save Rug Design will add that configured Rug to your bookmarked designs (you may be asked to sign in or sign up) and that way you can think things over, contact us with questions, or just return when you are ready to purchase. There is a 'My Saved Rugs' link at the top of the page next to the basket.
